The plane captain directs operations on the fueling pad. In ground handling, this person is the aircraft’s on-scene supervisor, coordinating the fuel crew, ensuring proper safety steps are followed (such as grounding the aircraft and engine/rotor security), and making sure fueling proceeds without hazards. The flight instructor focuses on training flights, the student isn’t in charge of pad operations, and the maintenance supervisor manages maintenance tasks rather than fueling activities.
